The owner of a smallholding on the outskirts of Greenock enlisted the help of DAMM Environmental to assist with the transformation of an agricultural shed. Previously, the shed had been used as a garage, but our client was converting the space to accommodate four stables. The client had already prepared the space by clearing out the whole interior, repairing some worn steel sheets, and filling in an old vehicle inspection pit by concreting over the surface. DAMM was brought in to deliver specialist cleaning and drainage improvements to ensure the space was viable for horses.

Two DAMM operatives attended the property and began by installing an internal drainage system. This was connected to two exterior downpipes on the shed, which had previously discharged directly into the garden, occasionally causing flooding. DAMM redirected the flow from both downpipes to a nearby field, creating a much safer and more effective water run-off solution for the long term. With the drainage completed, the team carried out an extensive internal and external clean using high pressure water jetting equipment. This included jet washing the concrete floor and the steel walls of the shed, both inside and out. To tackle moss and dirt build-up on the exterior, they also applied specialist cleaning chemicals, leaving the surface clear, clean and looking much more attractive!

Our client left with a space that looked basically as good as new, ready for its next phase of function as a stable. DAMM’s work not only improved the look and cleanliness of the building, but also contributed to the safety and long-term usability of the structure – all delivered efficiently by an experienced, professional, friendly team!
